The most fascinating silk-screen art laboratory in Venice
Over the course of centuries, Venice has developed a particular production capacity in the paper sector. In its highly prized paper, with a high cellulose content, writings by Galilo Galieli are excellently preserved, still visible today in the Venetian state archives and even older documents.
On the basis of this specialty, a flourishing printing industry developed, which led to the invention of modern publishing with the work of Aldo Manuzio.
Among the various artisanal and artistic specializations related to paper, silk-screen printing stands out.
The Fallani screen printing laboratory was founded in 1968 by Fiorenzo Fallani, and now managed by his son Giampaolo who has been able to maintain and further develop the tradition of very high quality screen printing.
Fallani has collaborated with well-known artists from all over the world, including Guttuso, Sassu, Guidi, Dova, Deluigi, Richter, Fiume, Vedova, for whom he made thousands of prints.

The workshop today offers a great variety of original and recent author’s serigraphs, in its headquarters which is located in one of the most evocative and least frequented corners of Venice, in the heart of the Cannaregio district.
